We Help You Stay on Track Financially

tavionkarex started in 2018 when three mates realized they'd all made the same money mistake — forgetting about a recurring subscription.

It sounds silly now, but that conversation over coffee turned into something bigger. We spent months talking to people about their spending habits, and what we heard surprised us. Smart, capable people weren't struggling because they didn't understand money. They just needed better tools to see where it was actually going.

So we built tavionkarex. Not as some revolutionary financial platform, but as a straightforward service that helps Australians manage their budgets without the headache. We're based in Mosman, and we've been helping people get clearer about their finances ever since.

How We Got Here

2018

Starting Small

We launched with a simple spreadsheet template that actually worked. Fifty people signed up in the first month — mostly friends and their contacts. The feedback was immediate: people wanted automation, not another thing to manually update.

2020

Building the Platform

After two years of development, we released our web application. It connected to Australian banks and categorized transactions automatically. The response was better than expected — we had 800 active users by December.

2022

Finding Our Focus

We noticed something interesting in the data. People weren't using tavionkarex to track every single dollar. They wanted to understand their recurring costs and spot unusual patterns. So we rebuilt the interface around those specific needs instead of trying to be everything.

2024

Expanding Support

We added features people actually asked for — customizable budget alerts, shared accounts for couples, and export options for tax time. Our user base grew to several thousand Australians who check in regularly.

What Matters to Us

Look, we're not going to claim we've revolutionized personal finance. But we do care about building something useful that respects your time and intelligence.

  • No nonsense approach: We show you your spending patterns without the guilt trips or patronizing advice. You're an adult — we just provide the visibility.
  • Security that works: Your financial data goes through bank-level encryption. We don't sell your information or clutter your inbox with marketing emails.
  • Actually helpful features: Every tool we build comes from direct user feedback. If it doesn't solve a real problem, we don't add it.
  • Straightforward pricing: One price, all features. We don't hide the useful stuff behind premium tiers or surprise you with fees.

We've learned that most people don't need complex financial software. They need something reliable that works in the background and alerts them when it matters.

Who We Are

Felicity Brunt, Operations Director at tavionkarex

Felicity Brunt

Operations Director

Felicity joined us in 2019 after working in banking compliance for seven years. She's the reason our security protocols actually make sense and why customer support emails get answered within hours, not days. Outside of work, she's usually hiking somewhere around Sydney or testing new recipes on her patient family.

Our team has grown to twelve people across development, support, and operations. Everyone works remotely now, though we still meet quarterly at our Mosman office to argue about feature priorities and eat too much takeaway.

How tavionkarex Actually Works

Connect Your Accounts

Link your Australian bank accounts through secure APIs. We support most major banks and update your transactions automatically each day. The initial setup takes about five minutes.

Review Your Patterns

Our system categorizes your spending and shows you where your money goes each month. You can adjust categories, set budget limits, and see trends over time. The dashboard updates in real-time.

Get Smart Alerts

Set up notifications for things that matter — approaching budget limits, unusual transactions, or forgotten subscriptions. You control what triggers an alert and how you receive it.

Why We Built It This Way

The financial software market is crowded with apps that either oversimplify everything or overwhelm you with features you'll never touch. We wanted something different — a tool that respected your existing financial knowledge while making the tedious parts automatic.

After testing with hundreds of Australians, we found that most people just want two things: accurate visibility into where their money goes, and timely alerts when something needs attention. That's what tavionkarex does, and we've kept it focused on those core functions since 2020.
